Bandage compression method

1. Put one end of the bandage on the ankle

This is where the dressing begins. Wrap the bandage along the foot from the outside, not from the inside, so that the position and direction of the bandage is correct.

In order to get more support, you can put a surf pad on both sides of the ankle before bandaging.

Horseshoe-shaped filled foam can also provide more support for pressure dressing.

2. Bandage the top of the foot

One hand presses one end of the bandage on the ankle, and the other hand wraps the bandage around the foot from the outside. Wrap three times from the front to the heel, each time making the bandages overlap each other half way.

The bandage should be strong, but it should not be too tight or it will block the flow of blood from the foot to the toe.

Make sure that the dressing is even without swelling or bulging. Re-bandage if necessary.

3.8 glyph dressing

After wrapping around the foot three times, lift the bandage around the instep and back to the ankle. Then go to the heel, go around the instep, sole of the foot and back to the ankle.

4. Repeat the figure eight bandage

Wrap the figure eight three times in total. Every time you wrap, overlap the general bandage to keep it fixed. The last time you should wrap around a few centimeters above the ankle to maintain stability.

If a child’s ankle is to be bandaged, it may be fixed without having to wrap it three times. But make sure to go around at least two times and make sure the ankle is fixed.

Check again to make sure that the bandage is firm and not too tight. If there is swelling or bulging, re-wrap it, otherwise it will cause discomfort to the patient.

5. Fixed bandage

Fasten the end of the bandage with a metal button. If the bandage has adhesive at the end, use adhesive to fix it.

Untie the bandage if you feel numbness or tingling in your ankle. This snuggle is tied too tightly with the bandage.

Loosen the bandage twice a day for half an hour each time to allow the blood to circulate smoothly, and then re-bandage.
