A precision pipette, also known as a pipette gun, is a device used to quantitatively transfer liquids. When conducting research on analytical testing, a pipette is generally used to remove a small amount or a small amount of liquid. Pipettes can be divided into air piston pipettes (Air-displacement pipette) and external piston pipettes (Positive-displacement pipette) according to the principle. Gas piston pipettes are mainly used for standard pipetting, and external piston pipettes are mainly used for handling special liquids such as volatile, corrosive and viscous liquids. Many people will ignore the correct use of pipettes and some detailed operations.
The precision pipette has common pipetting, mucus, liquid dispensing, liquid mixing, liquid mixing, liquid collection, manual and multiple compound modes, which can conveniently realize many complex operations and improve work efficiency. The grasp and guidance of ergonomic design The structure and the lightweight design of the manual ejection nozzle allow you to completely get rid of hand fatigue and strain in pipetting operations. The circuit design is combined with the light manual ejection head, which has a long battery life.
Pipetting methods for precision pipettes:
Before pipetting, make sure that the pipette, tip and liquid are at the same temperature. When aspirating the liquid, keep the pipette in a vertical position, and insert the tip of the pipette 2-3 mm below the liquid surface. Before sucking liquid, you can suck and put the liquid several times to moisten the suction nozzle (especially when you want to suck liquids that are viscous or have a density different from water). There are two pipetting methods that can be used at this time.
One is the forward pipetting method. Press the button with your thumb to the first stop, then slowly release the button to return to the original point. Then press the button to the first stop point to discharge the liquid, pause for a while and continue to press the button to the second stop point to blow out the residual liquid. Finally release the button.
The second is the reverse pipetting method. This method is generally used to transfer high-viscosity liquids, biologically active liquids, liquids that are easy to foam or very small amounts of liquids. The principle is to inhale more liquid than the set range, and do not need to blow out the remaining liquid when transferring the liquid. First press the button to the second stop, then slowly release the button to the origin. Then press the button to the first stop point to discharge the liquid with the set range, continue to hold the button at the first stop point (do not press it down again), remove the tip with residual liquid, and discard it.
In the process of daily use of precision pipettes, more attention should be paid to the following:
1. The speed of adjusting the capacity should not be too fast to avoid wear of the counter parts.
2. It should always be used within the measuring range.
3. Install the suction head without knocking or twisting to avoid damage to the suction head cone.
4. When there is liquid in the tip, it cannot be taken/placed sideways to prevent the liquid from entering the instrument.
5. The liquid absorption speed should be well controlled, and should not be too fast, so as to prevent the liquid from recoiling into the cone of the suction head or entering the inside.
6. After use, it should be hung and stored to prevent liquid vapor from entering the interior.
7. If the safety cone filter is used, it should be replaced regularly. According to the frequency of use, it can be replaced if the liquid absorption speed is obviously slowed down. In addition, the filter should be replaced when over-absorption of liquid occurs, or when the liquid backflushes into contact with the filter during suction.
8. Regularly maintain the instrument. If there are frequent sterilization operations, check its performance after 6-10 times of sterilization and perform maintenance.
