Using a serological pipette, you can transfer liquids in milliliters (ml). Typically, these pipettes are graduated on the side for easy measurement of precise quantities.
What is a serological pipette used for?
Serological pipettes are very effective when mixing cell suspensions. However, you can also use them to mix reagents and chemicals. These pipettes can be used to move cell colonies for additional analysis during processing or isolation of cell cultures. Additionally, you can use these plastic pipettes to layer reagents to create density gradients, such as ficoll gradients for refined plasma.
