What precautions should be taken when sterilizing pipette tips? Let's take a look together.

1. Use newspaper

Sterilize the tips and put them in a tip box for moist heat sterilization, 121 degrees, 1 bar atmospheric pressure, 20 minutes; to avoid water vapor problems, you can wrap the tip box with newspaper, or put it in an incubator after sterilization Dry in medium.

2. When autoclaving, the tip box should be wrapped in newspaper for sterilization

Newspaper bags absorb water, avoid too much water, and most importantly prevent recontamination.

3. Precautions for tip sterilization during RNA extraction

Use common EP tubes and pipette tips. Soak them in DEPC water overnight to remove RNase before autoclaving. After removing the DEPCs the next day, place them in a pipette tip box for moist heat sterilization. 121 degrees, 15-20 minutes. To avoid water vapor, wrap newspaper around the tip box, or place it in an incubator to dry after sterilization. It is best to sterilize directly before each extraction, and do not use long-term pipette tips to extract RNA.

Advantages of high temperature steam sterilization:

Steam heat penetration is strong; sterilization efficiency is high; sterilization time is short; no chemical or physical pollution during sterilization; sterilization equipment has few control parameters and stable operation; steam sterilization is used for water and energy saving. High thermal efficiency.

Our pipette tips are made of medical-grade polypropylene (PP) material, USP Class VI, with excellent chemical resistance, and can be autoclaved at 121 degrees (generally electron beam sterilization).
